Chris Cummings and Josh Woooten
were named co-MVP of the 2007 Mansfield University cross country team .
Wooten returned to Mansfield for
his final season of eligibility after spending a year in Thailand. His
leadership was valuable to the underclassmen. Wooten earned All-PSAC honors
with an 11 place finish at PSAC’s and earned All-Regional honors with an eighth
place finish in the east regional at Lock Haven. He just missed qualifying for
nationals by one spot. He then led the team in the ECAC meet with a fifth place
finish and was the first division II finisher. Wooten went to Rush-Henrietta
high school and is a Liberal Arts major.
Cummings became the first Mansfield
runner to earn All-American honors in cross country when he finished in 31 at
the national meet in Missouri. He also became the first Mansfield track and
field athlete to earn All-American in indoor and outdoor track and cross
country. Cummings finished in third place at the east regional and finished in
third at the PSAC meet to earn regional and PSAC honors. Cummings went to
Mansfield high school and is a dual major in physics and math.
