Edwards Wins 5000 and Good Sets School Record in 60 in Indoor Opener at Cornell

RESULTS

ITHACA, NY -- Freshman Catie Good broke the school record in the 60 meters and Brenae Edwards won the 5000 meters as Mansfield opened its 2010-11 indoor track and field season at the Cornell Relays Saturday. 

Good posted a time of 8.13 to better Amanda Fedish's record of 8.20 seconds set in 2005. Edwards won the 5000 meters with a time of 17:47 with sophomores Kait Cehgwidden and Becky Kratz also posting PSAC qualifying times of 19:13 and 19:16 respectively in the same event. 

Also hitting a qualifying mark for the women was sophomore #AlexaTsikinas# in the pole vault with a10-4 effort.

Abbie Waltz finished with a time of 1:24.93 in the 500 meter dash to place 11th for Mansfield.

The women's distance medley team consisting of Kristy Scordino, Kelsie Foster, Bethany Coons, and Jess Scordino took home a 3rd place finish with a time of 13:01.28

On the men's side, Nate MacNabb and Bud Plaszenski each posted PSAC qualifying times of 8:51 (3rd place) and 8:52 (4th place) respectively.

Senior Ryan Detwiler cleared a mark of 6 feet in the high jump event to earn a 14th place finish.

Freshman Clay McCarthy earned a distance of 41 feet, 3inches in the shot put event finishing 17th overall.
