NEW YORK –
Justen Johnson set a school record in the men's 400m while
Alicia Edkin set a record of her own in the women's weight throw event at the Great Dane Invite at the famous Armory Track Center in New York City.
Johnson's 400m time of 48.73 bested the long-standing school record of 49.5 held by Mark Doherty since 1994. Johnson becomes the first athlete to run a sub-49 second time and hits an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the process.
Edkin broke her own school record in the women's weight throw event with her best attempt of 41' 3.27”. The senior broke her previous record of 39' 3.04” set in 2010. With her throw, Edkin qualifies for the PSAC Indoor Championships in Edinboro, PA.
